After having gratuated in Accounting, Simon started his career working for some of the biggest blue chip companies such as Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, Shell Oil and Philips. He then decided to found his own company named ISPC, which stands for International Student Placement Center and aimed to facilitating internships for international students in Australia. After having successfully leveraged the company to a AUD 2 millions revenue and 25 permanent staff members, Simon sold the company to Australia's biggest university, the Monarch University.
He then moved to Thailand to pursue a career in the media business, first working as the General Manager of NewspaperDirect in Phuket, and then creating his own newspaper, The Phuket News, Phuket's #1 English newspaper, completed in October 2011 by the creation of Live 89.5 FM, a 24/7 English radio station.
Jorge de la Torre
Co-Founder, Managing Director, Events Thailand
After a few years in the medical industry, Jorge changed his career to the hospitality and graduated in Hotel Management from the prestigious Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne in Switzerland. After a stint in a management training at Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort, Jorge returned to Switzerland to be involved in organising Expo 02, the International exposition, and then worked for Nestle S.A., the world's largest food and nutrition company, in the development of Nespresso.
Some years later, Jorge was appointed as F&B Director for Kata Group, moving back to Phuket and work also for SILK Restaurant at Andara Resort and Villas. He was then in charge of the opening of Cape Sienna as F&B Sales and Marketing Manager. Jorge then opened his own company, Events Internships Thailand, with Co-Founder and Partner Simon Samaan, that organises the Asian Hospitality and Travel Show.

Having strong interests in Tourism and holding a Bachelor of Tourism from the Ratchapat University, Dawan started her career in as a Sales & Accounts Administrator for Protocol Design, in Phuket. She then moved to the Hospitality industry working for the Amanpuri Resort, a prestigious five-star resort on the island, as an F&B Guest Relation Officer. She completed her experience by working for JonesLang Lasalle Management, responsible for numerous properties in Phuket. Dawan then joined Events Thailand and Internships Thailand as the Administrative Assistant.
